Simplicity

Welcome to your February and your weekend, Better Lifers.

Soon, the day will kick in fiercely. But, for the moment, I am quiet and contemplative.

I am enjoying . . .

Peace of simple things.

Contentment through gratitude.

Happiness in appreciating beauty.

Rejuvenation in the quiet.

Nature Says It Best . . .

Like last evening’s sunset, as viewed from my back deck.

Simplicity of the sun slowly dropping into the water through palm fronds.

Sheer beauty. Sheer bliss.

Simplicity in an awesome ball of fire descending into the sea.

Or this morning’s sunrise.

As I gazed west over the back deck around 6:45 a.m., the moon had not yet set, even as the reflection of the waking sun danced in the morning clouds.

Simplicity in the end of one phase and the beginning of another.

Although it’s been windy lately, the morning waters are calm and peaceful.

Simplicity in a new day.

I walked out the front door, stood on the porch and turned my face to the brilliant sun rising in the eastern sky.

(Alas, I was not as ambitious as the morning I drove to the eastern beach to capture the spectacular sunrise for you, so please forgive the wires crossing our view. Spectacular, nonetheless.)

Simplicity of Dawn.

Simplify your morning (simplify your day, simplify your life!), find peace, give thanks.

And have a fabulous weekend! 😉

What simple things brought you joy today?

Really Dawn, I love ya, and I admire your spirit and your writing, but this borders on “cruel and unusual punishment” for those of us here in the Midwest, where today it is, literally, below zero. As a former lawyer and Chicagoan, you should know better! 🙂

Ugh. My sincere apologies, especially since I confess that I sometimes – gulp – forget that it’s cold elsewhere! But, now, I am remembering all too well. Perhaps your simple joys today will come in the form of a crackling fire, snuggling up to a cozy loved one, the still in the chill, the peaceful quietude of shoveling snow (okay, maybe not that)… 😉 Thanks for commenting!

Love this, Dawn! The pics are gorgeous, and reflect so well your beautiful Better Life philosophy. I think my fave is the “Simplicity in a new day” – it somehow speaks to me of quiet, calm potential.

It’s so easy to complicate life when we think from the head. Thank you for reminding me to appreciate quiet moments and the beauty of nature (which, at the moment, is the fluffy snow outside my window), and for bringing me right back to my heart, where all is calm. So much to be grateful for. 🙂

Christine, you have such a beautiful way with words, most likely stemming from your beautiful spirit. 🙂 Enjoy the calm – and the fluffy snow! Thanks for commenting.
